Both Alzheimer's and senile dementia are considered organic in origin: insurance companies will cover these in a Long-Term Care policy and it should say clearly that "Alzheimer's Disease, senile dementia, and other organic" brain disorders are covered by the policy.

Some insurance policies will not cover "nonorganic" mental and nervous disorders and disorders due to alcohol or drug-related problems.
