Skilled Care

TThis is the type of care provided by skilled medical personnel, such as registered nurses and professional therapists. This is the highest level of care available outside of a nursing home. The care must be available 24 hours a day and is ordered by a doctor, usually in accordance with a plan of care. Generally, skilled care is provided in a nursing home, however, some “skilled services” may be provided in other settings including at home or in an assisted living facility or memory care unit.
